Madeline Williams
Madeline Williams is an ASHA-certified medical speech-language pathologist, certified brain injury specialist, and certified dementia practitioner. She is passionate about working with patients with dysphagia and cognitive communication disorders.
Since graduating with masters in May 2019, Madeline has worked in inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient hospital settings. She has been on both sides of the hiring process. She has also started supervising her first graduate clinicians as of January 2023.
As a full-time practicing clinician, Madeline has been in multiple settings with the same bare minimum training that is, unfortunately, very common in the SLP industry. She knows first-hand how overwhelming, isolating, unhappy, and stressful this career path can be at times.
Drawing from her own career journey, she created Therapy Career Cafe to provide resources and support to therapists seeking confidence, skills, and fulfillment in their careers.
Madeline loves to see things "click" for clinicians. Her goal is to assist clinicians in landing positions and foster their professional growth. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her two Cavalier King Charles fur babies.

Message From Our Founder:
“I remember how overwhelmed I felt graduating and applying to jobs for the first time. I didn’t know how to package my limited clinical experiences in a resume and navigate the entire hiring process. I spent hours studying and was able to land my dream job - which inspired me to help others to do the same.
I then started my clinical fellowship in an inpatient rehabilitation hospital as the first and only full-time SLP. I realized how tremedous the knowledge gap was between what we learned in the classroom and clinical practice. I dedicated hours after work and free time on the weekend to learning tools and organizing myself so I could be tthe best clinician I could.
As my career developed, depending on the setting and transition, I was constantly learning a lot of skills, information, and practice outside of work. I can look back at my career and see the overwhelm, frustration, and stress that sometimes came with trying to learn as much as I could without many detailed resources.
When I started supervising, I found passion in breaking things down and helping to bridge those gaps between the classroom and real life clinical practice. I started sharing my supervision journey on Instagram and received feedback that this would help others. Therapy Career Cafe grew from there.
I truly hope to empower clinicians in their SLP journey and help support the SLP industry as a whole.”
